So far we have...
- Reviewed run-on sentences. What are the two types?
- Analyzed an EOL prompt using an excerpt from The Signers...an prompt that I meant to use during A Pioneer Never Quits unit. Uh oh, where does all the time go?
- Reviewed your semester test.
Now, for the rest of the week:
- Grammar Time: Review of parallel structure.
- Review the EOL prompt.
- Complete a prompt using Robert Frost's poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay," which will serve as a starting point for our next thematic unit.
- Assign an essay modeled after an EOL writing prompt.
What is in our near future?
- Completing your assigned essay.
- The Materialism Unit during which we will read F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby.
- Analyzing your annotated bibliographies for your Natural High Day paper.
Reminders:
- You have to read six books this nine weeks. As a class, we will read The Great Gatsby and Night this nine weeks, so that means you are responsible for reading four novels of your choice.
- Expectations/Length Requirements:
1-299 pages = 1 book
300-599 pages = 2 books
600 + pages = 3 books - I will post assessment options soon...just as soon as I get that all decided!
Once again...welcome back!
